Gray Lodge News July 6, 2017

Good day all,

It’s a new masonic year! Gray Lodge #329 held its first stated meeting with its newly installed officers last night and it was a great success! Brethren and guests enjoyed a meal at 6:00pm which included a new formal dining room touch, and the evening was concluded in peace and harmony. We thank all who came out and encourage all Gray Lodge brethren to attend our future stated meetings and enjoy some fellowship.

This weekend, July 7th through July 9th, the officers of Gray Lodge will be attending the annual officer’s retreat to discuss the direction of the lodge this coming masonic year. If any brother has any issue they would like brought up and discussed by the officers at this retreat, please contact WM Richard Fawcett (master@gray329.org) or Bro. Secretary, Darrin Pitts (secretary@gray329.org).

Gray Lodge is very proud to announce that Bro. Treasurer Mark Herzog was voted to receive the Biennial Honor of Knights Commander, Court of Honor (K.C.C.H.) from the Houston Valley Scottish Rite, Supreme Council of the Scottish Rite, Southern Jurisdiction. Congratulations on this great honor, Bro. Herzog!

We also would like to report that Bro. Bill Bradford is home from the hospital and doing well!

In other lodge news, it is with great sadness that we learned the following Brothers laid down their working tools:

Gray Lodge Past Master Mark Opperman

Bro. Opperman passed into the presence of the Grand Architect of the Universe on May 26, 2017. No Masonic service was requested or performed, but the brothers of Gray banded together and took donations to help cover final arrangements.

Gray Lodge Brother Lucky Hardy

Bro. Hardy passed into the presence of the Grand Architect of the Universe on June 19, 2017. A Masonic Service for Brother Hardy is scheduled on July 14th, 2017 at 1:00 PM at Veterans Memorial Cemetery: 10410 Veterans Memorial Dr., Houston, in the Committal Area. Brother Hardy was in both the Navy and Air Force, a Military Service will precede the Masonic Service.

Gray Lodge Past Master Fred Larson

Bro. Larson passed into the presence of the Grand Architect of the Universe on June 27, 2017. There will not be a Masonic Service, but there will be a memorial service on August 3, 2017 from 6pm to 8pm at Klein Funeral Home at 16131 Champion Forest Dr.
