Charles Reynold Boggess was born in Houston, Texas on August 30, 1965,
to Charles W. and Gayle F. Boggess. After graduating from Spring Woods High
School, Butch attended Texas State Technical College in Waco, graduating
with an Associates Degree in Applied Science. Following in the footsteps of
his father and numerous ancestors (8th generation), Butch was raised to the
sublime degree of Master Mason on April 21, 1999 at Gray Lodge.
In June of 1999, he became a member of the York Rite bodies of the
Houston, Council Number 1, Washington Chapter Number 2, Ruthven Commandery
Number 2, Arabia Shrine Temple and is an active member of the Flying Fez
Club, having served as its Commander in 2000. Butch has held numerous
offices at Gray Lodge, including Past Master (2003-04), Senior Steward
(2005-08) and Tiler (2008-09). He is also a Past Patron of the Eastern
Star, Bluebell Chapter No. 856 (2006-07) and served as the District Deputy
Grand Master of Masonic District 30B in 2007.
Butch is a Real Estate Appraiser, having previously worked in the
automotive field for 15 years. His wife Linda originally of Dallas, Texas,
is a Realtor and an avid equestrian. He and Linda are active as volunteers
in several nonprofit organizations in the Houston area. Butch holds several
professional instructor certifications in SCUBA diving, having been
extended invitations to international cave diving teams documenting
uncharted areas. Articles concerning those trips have been documented in
national magazines for the sport.
